Spiritual Evolution
The Meeting of the Minds
It came to me all at once, since then it has become more and more evident what has happened to our spiritual minds. At first I did not believe in evolution, but now it is apparent what is about to happen and what will happen in the future. We have grown in an "evolutionary" state according to our circumstances. Before, like in Christ's time, there was not a means to communicate as freely as we are now able. The spirituality of cultures was separate from other cultures and could remain so by mere geography. Many separate faiths and beliefs arose. Because of this lack of communication, many spiritual wars broke out. God fought God as each side of the battleground was spiritually founded and motivated. It has been noted that the side with the stronger fate from their God would win the battle. Eventually, enough battles would be won and the minority would have to bow to the demands of the victor. Being connected as a whole, our population has major changes and challenges that lie ahead.

Christ may have been two thousand years ahead of his time with his message of love and forgiveness, but the message has always been there. Now that we are at the brink of the next evolution of our spirits, his message will have utmost importance for the transition to the next phase of our existence.

The evolution talked about here is the one pertaining to a global consciousness. We are all getting more and more tied together in industry, communication, language and almost every other aspect of our existence. Evolution here will start out as an overall awareness of the things of the world. We will all be able to identify what is going on where and when and how much interaction is needed by each individual. In this current stage of development, we have tools at hand currently within the media, the Internet, and global market communication. These tools allow almost any individual to be able to get the main events happening in any area of the world in a matter of moments or as little as a day. Compare this to the days of old when we had only couriers of information that physically traveled to the leaders of countries to deliver news. The information was filtered by the leaders and then delivered down the line to the common people. This trickle down effect created an air of mystery and required that the leaders should be trusted for accurate information.

Today, we have a different situation. Raw information is much easier to come by. Cameras and sound devices are placed in actual settings that can be viewed by people around the world. The filtering of information has almost ceased as the raw communication channels have become more and more accessible to the common people. There are still those in power that believe that information should be filtered and fed to the masses so that mass hysteria does not prevail. In a way, they are right, but that is also a very dangerous situation as the leaders of today are not trusted and the actual facts of information are held with little or no trust. On top of that, the media is giving us raw information that leads us to believe that the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Little is known about the pockets of good that are still being achieved around the world. People are still helping people, and if one were to be more aware of daily life, we could all see that we are still really nice to each other. With this in mind, we see that despite what happens, people are still there in times of crisis for each other. Even at the smaller scale, people are always helping others. It is only through which filter that we choose to see events as good or bad. We see the horrendous things that happen on television, but often enough we do not see the care taking of the victims. The news stories stop a little too short.

Things are changing. Many people of the new age believe that we have already experienced the main change of humanity at the emotional level. We have already been exposed to the cosmic cycle of change which can be referred to as the second coming of Christ or the Age of Aquarius. In eastern thought and philosophy, it is believed that the balance of Yin-Yang is or has already shifted from the masculine to the feminine. It is very interesting to view all major philosophies come together separately, yet achieve the same goal. The only thing to do now is to wait and watch everything manifest into our daily existence. Just when things were looking to get worse, it will be evident after a few more "bumps in the road" that we are actually going to be better off as a people and our life of fear will be less of a factor.

Being Still
The art of being still and quiet in the midst of change is very important for our global transition. Sometimes when things can not be handled and everything seems to be running at its own pace regardless of our input, inaction can be the best solution. To do nothing is not to sit at home and watch the world go by. It is more of a coast between gears where we take the momentum of current life and try not to change anything for the moment. In this existence, one sees that life moves forward and resembles a leaf floating on a stream. The stream still moves forward, and the leaf gets to a destination, but no interaction by the leaf is necessary. Sometimes, especially in this time of global change, items will take care of themselves and all we need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. When it is obvious that decision making is doing nothing but agitating situations, then it is time to coast.

In the art of being still, interaction and decision making will be requested by events, instead of events that arise from decision making. On a global scale, this acting upon request will help tremendously as we can then try to sail through the rest of the tough times and await the new existence. Failure to recognize this natural transition and the attempts to make decisions that are not requested will go against the flow of the situation and cause stress.

Stress in America
In America, stress of this type is very common. It is that point in life that nothing seems to go right. No matter what is done, staying in bed seems to have been the better decision. In a country that is always on the move and decisions are made at the speed of light, it is no wonder why we are all stressed. In America, to stop is to lose money, and money is very important. As was stated before, inaction is not staying home from work, it is simply not making any new decisions. Metaphorically, a car that accelerates must at some point coast and feel the effects of the acceleration. A society that is constantly accelerating must realize that soon it will eventually run out of fuel. This is probably why Rome fell and all the other main powers of the world fell. Action and inaction is like breathing. We must exhale after the inhale, less we explode.

Now that we know that balance is key to fruitful existence, what can we expect from this new existence? As predicted by all the major prophets, there will be a time of great and lasting peace for hundreds or thousands of years. Expect to see things on a global scale get better in the reduction of frequency of wars and violent acts. Violent crimes will be reduced, not by police force, but by the efficiency of officers and law enforcement to understand and better prepare and predict why and where these acts occur.

Beyond that, people will eventually lose the desire to commit these acts, mainly due to the reduced stress level and lack of negative popularity in the media. Negative popularity is simply the desire of a criminal to commit an act based upon the attention that can be achieved through negative media coverage. In all present actuality, this type of crime motivation can be stopped by voicing the opinions to the news media to stop producing these types of stories. We really don't want to hear about those stories, anyhow. Negative impact could be turned into positive if we just stop watching television when we see negative stories and events. The media would stop airing these items and running the newspapers as soon as we stopped playing into the need to watch such negativity. It is as simple as a personal choice. It starts at the home and expands to the country and eventually the world. Why is it so interesting to see how low we can go as a society?

Selfishness and Selflessness
The other major change will be an interpersonal one. Selflessness will have selfish rewards. The way that society runs at the present moment is one of fulfilling selfish needs. At first, it seems that being selfish is bad. At some levels, it is bad, but it is the nature of all of us. History has seen a movement from being selfless to being selfish. Since this is the way of things, then how do we move into a peaceful situation with our friends and acquaintances if we are being more and more selfish? It is actually quite easy. We have all helped someone out for some reason. We have all seen someone in need despite whose fault or what happened to put that person in such a predicament. The result of helping leaves an overall loving feeling. This is most experienced when raising children. The act of helping a child learn a new experience has its own rewards. The bonding moment is one of the most beautiful between the adult and the child. The same intensity can be felt when a person in need is helped.

This feeling from helping accomplishes two major things. First, it raises the heart of both parties involved. The elated emotional response triggered by heartfelt actions is better than financial rewards. Even the financial awards come. More and more, we see that selfless acts are attracting attention. Lady Diana and Mother Theresa are two prime examples. These two angels of the earth could have anything their hearts desired. Hence it is said that selfless acts have selfish rewards.

The rewards for helping others come in many forms. In one form, helping others in a public arena brings immediate results. By helping someone and telling others how nice it felt brings admiration and respect. Helping others and keeping the gesture between parties involved brings much bigger rewards.

By privately helping someone in need, two things happen. First, the person is lifted up and can see things in a better light. That person has been helped in a time of need and that will not be forgotten. Second, our future is secured in knowing that if there is a time of personal crisis, there will be plenty of people around that will do the same for us. If helping becomes a way of life, then a network of friends and family develops. Before it is even realized, popularity abounds as those that were helped do nothing but speak positively of us. Then anything we need becomes ours. Instead of taking what we thought we had to fight for, it becomes evident that pure selfless charity becomes the way of life and all involved are better for it. Then as this becomes the norm in society, the whole culture begins to improve so much so that it becomes news. The only thing left is to watch the windfall effect as the whole planet is full of people helping people to achieve their personal goals.
